Biography
A native of Brooklyn NY, Ned grew up on the south shore of Long Island,where he graduated from Setn Hall HS and later from SUNY Maritime College at Fort Schiyler. He is a proud father and grandfather. Family is of great importance in all he does. After graduating from college to become a Merchant Marine Officer. In 1980, Ned moved with his family to Ft. Lauderdale, FL where he spent the next 20+ years as a Harbor Pilot for Port Everglades. Water and music were central in Ned's youth and have continued to be a corner stone for his life, carrying into his performing and writing career.
After a successful career as a Harbor Pilot, his first creative endeavor was the recording of his all original album “Never Too Old To Fly” (cprt 2002). The album chronicles many adventures of Ned’s journey. Recording this album and performing at countless events was merely the first step in Ned's creative career. He has always had a passion for performing. Upon retirement, and with much more time available to pursue his creative desires, recording music and acting became his focus. Of course, he also has a great passion for the adventurous things in life… Like sailing to exotic places, diving to the depths of some wondrous reef or hang gliding off some majestic mountain, proving time and time again that you really are "Never To Old To Fly."
Ned has also trained as a personal development coach and instructor. He has found this training to be invaluable in acting as it allows access to emotions and personalization of characters that greatly enhances all presentations. Ned is GREAT FULL for this opportunity to perform and grow and is in deep respect for the craft of acting. It is exciting to think that there will always be more to grasp and learn and experience in it.
